Typhoon prevention measures

1. Safety of outdoor activities

1. Pay attention to meteorological data and weather changes at any time. Try to minimize going out during a typhoon. If you have to go out, please close the doors and windows, and inform your roommate, colleague or superiors whereabouts and contact information. Be sure to dress conspicuously, and try to grasp the railings and other fixtures when the wind blows, and bend down and walk slowly when crossing the bridge or walking on a high place.

2. Pay attention to falling objects at high places when walking on the street. Avoid walking near dilapidated housing, factories, sheds, temporary buildings, scaffolding, telephone poles, trees, billboards, towers, etc. At the same time, it is not advisable to stay near towers, substations, metal sheds, etc., and do not stay under big trees or near railway tracks.

3. Pay attention to safety under your feet when wading. During typhoons, heavy rainfall is often accompanied by water, causing water on the road. Employees should wear rain boots or sports shoes when going out. Do not go out barefoot or sandals to avoid encountering unknown glass fragments, sharp metal, exposed wires, etc. in the water, causing life damage.

4. When encountering thunderstorms outdoors, you should look for relatively dry and leeward places nearby to hide. Do not rush in the rain. You should stay away from the water and do not answer your phone.

5. After the typhoon, do not get close to the ground-based wires when you see them.

2. Traffic safety

1. Try not to drive out during typhoons. When driving, slow down and keep the distance. If you encounter strong storms and rainstorms while driving, you should stop by the roadside.

2. Pay attention to avoid pedestrians. When typhoons come, they usually carry heavy rain. Pedestrians often run around regardless of vehicles driving on the road. Some pedestrians use umbrellas to block the wind and rain, and the vision ahead is easily blocked. Please keep an appropriate distance from pedestrians while driving.

3. Pay attention to the movements of vehicles in front and on both sides, keep an appropriate distance from them and pay close attention to their movements, beware of emergency braking or lane change, and pay attention to maintaining a certain distance from cyclists.

4. When the car is wading, the engine should be operated normally and the steering and braking mechanisms should be sensitive and reliable. Try to avoid stopping, shifting gears or making sharp turns in the middle, especially when the water road is mud and sand, you should pay more attention to it. The vehicle speed needs to be controlled (usually within 20km per hour). If you pass through at high speed, the splashed water will enter the engine. If the car is turned off in the water, do not start immediately to avoid serious damage to the engine. The power should be cut off as soon as possible, lock the car door, find rescue and report insurance, and drag the car to a safe place with less water as soon as possible.

3. Flood prevention and typhoon prevention

1. Room, interior and exterior safety. Pay attention to closing doors and windows during typhoons and put items placed outdoors in. Before the typhoon and rainstorm hit, you must move the flower pots on the balcony and windowsills that are prone to fall to a safe indoor place to prevent the wind from being blown away.

2. Material reserves. Typhoons may cause water and power outages, so we must prepare for daily life in a timely manner. Prepare flashlights and candles and store drinking water to prevent power and water loss; prepare more food for one or two days and do not go out unless necessary. The mobile phone should be charged in advance and equipped with a power bank.

3. Non-motor vehicle safety. Electric batteries parked in factories and dormitories are prohibited from charging during typhoons. If battery cars and bicycles are placed on the first floor or in low-lying areas, emergency transfers are made in advance.

4. If water enters indoors, please cut off the power supply as soon as possible to prevent electric shock.

5. Check the firmness of the outdoor unit of the air conditioner. If it is found that it is not firm, it should be reinforced in time.

6. Close the tap water valve and cut off the strong power supply to avoid water leakage and leakage causing harm to people.

7. Try not to use indoor water heaters, TVs, computers and other electrical appliances during thunderstorms, and unplug the power plug.
