In order to let engineers understand the actual use of the product so that they can better participate in product development, the engineering department manager decided to lead some engineers to conduct a fishing practice activity. After careful planning, several engineers who participated in this practical fishing activity, as well as relevant personnel from the Quality Department, Marketing Department and Production Department, and set off at noon on July 1, 2000 to the beautiful Dongji Island.
After changing buses all the way, the group finally arrived at Dongji Island at 5 pm. They stepped on the pier and looked back. The clear sea water was undulating and the fog on the sea made the surrounding islands vaguely visible. All of this made everyone feel relaxed and happy, and they also forgot about the fatigue of the journey and the pressure of work.
The boatman who has been in contact has prepared local seafood for us, which is not rich, but they are all delicious. Everyone has eaten and chatted, talked about fishing experience, talked about the use of products, talked about safety matters... Everything is so easy-going and natural, and the fun of fishing is not just the moment of fishing, but the whole process. After dinner, everyone rested early. After all, the half-day journey was a little tired, and they had to keep their energy in fighting for tomorrow.
At 3:30 in the morning the next day, everyone got up one after another to wash up. After breakfast, we set off at 4:30 to really start this fishing practice. The boat shuttled through the waves and soon arrived at the first fishing spot introduced to us by the sea fishing predecessor, a small island with sea water slapped at the reefs and white foam was rising. According to the combination that was agreed in advance, some of the colleagues climbed the reef here, and we continued to move forward. Everyone climbed the fishing spots they liked one after another, and another colleague and I finally climbed a reef and started fishing. Just when I was still mixing the bait, this colleague had already caught fish, a black bream of about half a pound. It seemed that he was lucky today. But the situation next was exactly the opposite. There were only a few small fish within 2 hours, and most of the time, no fish were interested in it.
By phone, everyone's situation was similar, so I quickly called the boat to pick us up and change our place. After getting on the boat, I took a long way to go to my respective fishing spots one after another. It was low and the fishing conditions were not ideal. Some colleagues simply caught tiger-headed fish, which was very happy. Without black bream, I picked up the lure rod and played with lure. After a few poles, I caught a halibut.
The fishing conditions afterwards were not ideal and the water was not good, so everyone ended up early. I had a meal and rest. I got up early the next day. Today, I had a local boatman to help me choose a location. The fishing situation was much better than yesterday, but I didn’t catch a large black bream. Anyway, after two days, the fishing situation was very average. On the way back, everyone was still immersed in the fishing process and chatted about their experiences in fishing.
After this fishing practice activity, everyone’s first feeling is that sea fishing is very tiring, but very happy. The biggest gain of several engineers this time was that they personally felt the actual operation of the shaking wheel, from the up line, the rod, the assembly of the fishing set, the adjustment of the brake force, and the throwing, the laying and the retraction of the line during fishing. After a series of practical operations, everyone has a deeper understanding of the structure of each part and has also learned about the key performance of each component. Although there were no large fish caught in this fishing practice, and many of the performance of the shaking wheel have not been reflected, it has cultivated everyone's interest and hobbies in fishing.
"Do one line, love one line, and be good one line." This is exactly the quality that our company's engineers need now. Many people entered this industry not because they liked it so much. Only by loving, loving your work and working passionately can you do it from the bottom of your heart, and only in this way can you do your job well. After fishing practice activities, everyone's interest in fishing can be well cultivated. With interest, they can better love their work, and they can also do a good job and do a good job in this industry.
A customer once told me that a good fishing gear engineer must also be a good angler, and it makes sense to experience it carefully. The functions of any product are impossible to understand without using it through one's own practice. Only by constantly thinking and improving during use can a perfect product be created.
This fishing practice has regrets, but more of it is gain. I also hope that engineers can truly fall in love with this industry and do a good job.
